The tepeo heat battery boiler charges using electricity, stores that energy as heat and then releases it through a wet central-heating system when your home needs warmth.
It charges like a battery and heats like a boiler.
It is not a storage heater and it is not a standard direct-electric boiler: a storage heater usually warms the room it sits in, and a direct electric boiler draws electricity at the moment heat is needed.
The tepeo ZEB heat battery boiler stores heat in advance. Smart Charging considers your tariff, local weather and expected heat demand when deciding when and how much to charge.
That means familiar radiator heating with greater flexibility over when your stored off-peak electricity is used.

To achieve low running costs and take advantage of the ZEB's thermal storage, you will switch to a flexible time-of-use electricity tariff. The ZEB automatically charges when renewable electricity is cheapest on the grid (typically overnight) and supplies heat on demand without drawing peak-rate power.

• Half-Hourly Optimisation: Modelling uses half-hourly charging optimisation over a typical year using real UK weather data from 2022-2024 and typical smart thermostat daily heating profiles. The Heat Battery is assumed to be inside the heated envelope of the building so heat loss contributes to heating the home.

In many suitable homes, the tepeo boiler can replace the central-heating function of a gas, oil or LPG boiler.
It can work with suitable radiators or underfloor heating. Existing radiators and pipework can often be retained, although this must be confirmed through our free home survey.
If you currently have a combi boiler, a tepeo ZEB will replace the central heating side of the system. A separate hot-water solution will normally be required, such as:
